Supporting Dentaid in the UK
Most of us take being able to visit the dentist for granted but for many vulnerable people in Britain accessing dental care is a real challenge. Dentaid’s Real Junk Tooth Project in Dewsbury helped the homeless, people on low incomes, immigrant workers and people with a history of mental health problems or drug and alcohol abuse to receive vital pain-reliving dental care. This project helped 150 people out of dental pain but we are now planning to expand this area of our work across the country. Our mobile dental unit will visit homeless shelters, day centres and projects run by our partner charities to provide oral health education, teeth screening and emergency dental treatment.
The Rotary Club of Romsey Test has already made a generous donation to support the Dentaid Van and with your club’s support we can make sure that dental care is available to more vulnerable people across the UK.
